Hide 12 is situated facing south-east, looking across 50 metres of wetland, towards an area of thick pine forest.
As the bears pass between 11, 12 and 13, they can come very close to the hide. There is open space in front and to the right of the hide, with a small group of trees to the left side. The rocky out crop in front of hide 1 is also visible. Due to the distances possible for photographing the wildlife, lenses from 14mm - 800mm can be utilized.
As with hides, 1,6,7,8,9,10,11,13,14,15,16 and 17 the bears and other predators can come very close, this is important to note, as other, shorter lenses can also be used to good effect here.
Hide 12 is a very good hide for morning sunrise back-lighting on the subject. Also, vivid Autumn colours in late August-September and the white cotton grass in early Summer.
