Hide 1 is a good all round hide. It is situated on the south-western corner of the small pond, and has excellent views 360 degrees.
Also unique to hide 1 is the close vantage point to the rocky outcrop, which is on the south-eastern side of the pond; this is the main angle of view from hide 1. Although there is potential to photograph the wildlife and landscape in any direction.
Sunrise and sunset photographs are both possible from hide 1. The sun rises to the left of the rocky outcrop. Behind the small pond, and will set behind the expanse of wetland to the west.
The Bears and Wolverine can pass very close, sometimes only 1 metre from the hide. It is possible to make a wide array images from inside hide 1, using both telephoto and wide angle lenses.
